# DESIGN-SYSTEM — creative + design direction (read before building anything)
Muse owns creative direction. Everything a builder needs to hit the bar without the bots.

## Pill ruling (Muse, 2026-10-30)
- The sticky Book pill sits **only over media or plain background** — never over text, captions, controls, CTAs, accordion headers, service rows, footer text, or a focal subject (the pro's work is the subject edge to edge, e.g. never on nails).
- It hides while any of those is inside its ~84px zone and while an inline 56px CTA is ≥80% on screen. **Never half-animated at rest. No spacer bands** to make room for it.
- Never over the signature pin, an open selector/sheet/accordion, or the final CTA. ≥44px + safe-area inset; one verb "Book with <Name>".
- Implementation reference: `02-…/M-20261029-010/SR-86cf68c094/v3/js/app.js` (IntersectionObserver on the pill zone) and its `_build/qa.js` (per-20px-step violation audit).
- Related ruling (dissolve captions): text must never be able to REST mid-fade. Scrub footage with scroll, but switch captions at the 50% crossover with a ~200ms time-based fade, so text is always 100% or 0%.

## salons.site booking rule (Muse, 2026-10-30) — pro pages on the platform
Opaque docked full-width booking bar ≥64px with safe-area padding; content padded beneath it; visible ≥90% of scroll depth; hidden only while the finale CTA is on screen; only ≥56px targets count. Menu rows say "Book" at every width, all other CTAs "Book with <Name>". The floating pill (ruling above) remains an option for cinematic Styled.page sites only.
Landscape-opening rule: at ≤430px stage ≥4:5 on the focal, else name-below layout; scrim solid band ≤35%.
